Destination for Gnomes and enthusiasts.

Hermie the Gnome was always curious. He wondered why the other gnomes scattered whenever they saw the cute black furry creature with the beautiful white stripe down its back. He learned the hard way that sometimes it was not was not always a good thing to be so curious.
But most of the time being curious was a good thing. One day as he was walking through the woods, he came across an old man who was sitting on a tree stump playing the violin. The old man could not see Hermie, of course, but Hermie watched him for a very long time and was fascinated by the way he moved his fingers over the strings. The music was so soothing that the old man fell into a deep sleep. Hermie’s curiosity took over. He picked up the violin to study how it was made. He rushed home, gathered up some wood, and a fashioned a violin for himself. The other gnomes teased him as he struggled to make the same sounds as the old man had done. But Hermie wouldn’t give up.
He practiced every day and every chance he got until finally he was almost as good as the old man. Now he spends his days playing for hours to entertain the chicks from his backyard and whoever else will give him the attention. Hermie knows that he isn’t the best violinist, but he’s okay with that. He decided that as long as he is happy and can play as often as he can, that that was all that mattered.
